Have you heard people chanting ‘Om” or “Sat Nam”? If you have, then you know what a mantra is. A “mantra” is a sacred utterance, a short syllable or word(s) taken from any language believed to have religious and spiritual significance, mostly Sanskrit, Pali, English.
In India, these mantras originated in Hinduism and Buddhism and people have been practicing chanting them for thousands of years irrespective of their varied religious backgrounds. There are hundreds of mantras, each activating a certain kind of energy within different parts of the body. If done with all awareness, the constant repetition of the mantra creates vibration and that slowly drives away all distractions and brings you to a state of clarity and calmness, free of any distractions.
